it's official!

Well, we had an inkling that this was going to happen, but we didn't want to say anything until it was confirmed ... no, i'm not pregnant, and no, we're not engaged. Damien's request to return to Auvergne to teach has been accepted! So as of the fall (2010), he'll be away from Saint-Denis and we'll be living together.

Now that the region has been confirmed, he has to request where in the region he wants to teach. He'll be assigned to a school at the end of June, which will give us an idea of where to look for an apartment.

This is welcome news, as the past few months have been filled with a lot of negative news and stress. I'm happy that we'll be able to start our life together, moving forward, instead of constantly stuck in neutral waiting for his job transfer.

Yay!

I'm a 28-year-old American who has been living in France since September of 2003. I became a naturalized French citizen on April 21, 2009.

I teach English at one of the universities in Clermont-Ferrand, and I'm doing a doctorate in American civilization and history at the Université Lumière Lyon II in Lyon, France.

I also own and run a small website design company based in the United States. I'm slowly adding French clients as well.
