Roger la Grenouille

If you're looking for a good restaurant in Paris, head over to the 6e to a restaurant named "Roger La Grenouille" (Roger the Frog). The food is good, the decoration is interesting, and the price is VERY nice (for Paris, of course).

There are 2 three-course fixed price menus - one is 24E and the other is 29E50. First courses chosen tonight were fried frogs' legs with tartar sauce (yum!) and foie gras creme brulee (which i tried a bit of, and it was yummy too!) Main courses were fish on a bed of zucchini and tomatoes, and steak in a red wine sauce with potatoes (double yum!). For dessert I went for the millefeuille croustillante with chocolate and pistachio (triple yum!), while others had red fruit and apple crumble or rich chocolate cake with orange sauce.

If you're looking for a good restaurant in Paris, don't go to the cheapish places that will still run you about 20E ... head to the 6e to eat at Roger La Grenouille! Bon Appetit!

I'm a 28-year-old American who has been living in France since September of 2003. I became a naturalized French citizen on April 21, 2009.

I teach English at one of the universities in Clermont-Ferrand, and I'm doing a doctorate in American civilization and history at the Université Lumière Lyon II in Lyon, France.

I also own and run a small website design company based in the United States. I'm slowly adding French clients as well.
